Yayın Muslim western diaspora: Finding home and belonging in Istanbul(İbn Haldun Üniversitesi, Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü, 2024) Bensaid, Halima; Aras, RamazanThis ethnographic study explores the construction of religious identity among the Muslim Western diaspora in Istanbul and their perceptions of home and belonging. While Istanbul has a rich history of migration, recent trends reveal a significant influx of Muslim Western people relocating to the city. Investigating the life trajectories influencing their migration decisions and shaping their experiences in Istanbul, this thesis focuses on the development of religious identity and notions of home and belonging.
